From Sandra Fry 3/12/03---The Wallworks were a very well to do money family. My great great grandmother Caroline Wallwork nee Bayman was the daughter of a Robert and Sarah Bayman (nee Jennings). There is a fortune sitting in the bank in England still unclaimed. My grandmother and her siblings had to send their birth certificates to England many years ago, no one can conclusively prove they are the rightful owners of this fortune left by a bachelor named Jennings/Jennens. There was an article in a genealogy magazine some 10-11 years ago about it. the British 1881 census shows Caroline's brother as having two servants and a cook. The Wallworks are from Lancashire, the Franks from Somersetshire. I also have the Nipperess (convict) family from Wiltshire, Adsett from Surrey, just outside London, and others from other places.
I have 4 convicts on my maternal grandmother's side. The earliest 1802. All of my father's side are from Ireland, thank goodness. Lurgan in Armagh; Tuam in Galway; Tipperary and Kilkenny. Their names are Kennedy;McGuire;Murray;Maher; Bergin; Kaimarr; Usher and Patterson. I hope to obtain my Kennedy great great grandparents marriage certificate from Ireland before too long, they were married in Roscrae Tipperary in 1836 and came to Australia in 1841. Usher is not a common name or a well known Irish name but it goes back to Ireland 700 years. the Kennedy name is 1000 years old used to be O'Kennedy like so many other Irish names. It is NOT a scottish name as some may think.
